Bernadetta (Bernie)'s Story
Life
After High School, went to work at Port Chicago Naval Weapons Station. Got married in 1952, lived in Port Chi. and Clyde, then bought 1st home in Concord[1955], still live in Concord but 2nd home[1960-still.here].
Raised two children with the help of their father of course. Our son, William was born in 1953[now.teaching] and along came Patti Ruth in 1955[lives.in.Redding,CA] they both are grads of Clayton Valley HS. That's why I entered the site for CVHS, just wanted to keep up with the young'ns that may have been in and out of our home back then.
I worked in retail 12 years[mostly.sporting.goods].
I took some art courses, sold some. Still dabble a little.
I have two knitting machines and do custom knitting. Play with my computer, I also do alot of genealogy on all of our families, that's ...Expand for more
an art in itself.
We have 3[three] grandchildren.
I lost my husband Dec. 2, 2003. It's hard to adjust. We were going together in high school and then were married for 52 years. It takes some getting used to. But I have to look at it this way, He was in so much pain the last few years and now he's in a better place.
I have a motorhome and I had driven it for the last 7 years before I lost my Red and I'm still driving our motorhome, planning a trip to MO. in June,2007 going to a Motorhome Rally [where there will be probably be 400 or more other motorhomes same kind as mine]. On our way we will stop and see some sights. I don't plan on getting back to Concord till maybe Sept.??? Who knows??
